Why choose eco-friendly soy wax candles?

Store shelves and online shops offer an enormous variety of candles. So how do you choose the right one? Should your choice be guided by fragrance, appearance or environmentally friendly materials?

When creating Ada Johanna candles, we brought all three together. We aim to keep our environmental footprint as small as possible while ensuring that both the fragrance and the design feel luxurious. We use soy wax, cotton wicks, high-quality fragrances and green energy to create candles with carefully considered materials and production methods.

Soy is one of the most popular natural candle waxes. Soy wax is made from soybeans, with by-products from processing also suitable for use as animal feed. After harvesting, the beans are cleaned, dehulled and rolled into flakes. The extracted oil is then processed until it becomes solid at room temperature. Soy wax candles may contain blends of different vegetable oils or waxes, whereas Ada Johanna candles are made from 100% soy wax.

Benefits of soy wax

Soy wax is a plant-based, renewable and vegan material. Its lower melting point allows soy wax candles to burn slowly and for longer. It also releases fragrance effectively, helping the scent diffuse throughout the room. Once the candle is finished, any remaining wax can be cleaned from the container simply with soap and water.
